Beer
The port of Beer is built on a hillside that is nestled behind a natural harbour and a small beach. On either side, there are cliff-top coastal walks with wonderful views of Branscombe Bay. The town of Beer itself includes several pubs and restaurants with a number of small shops.
There is a popular coastal walk from Branscombe to Beer which provide fantastic views over the Jurassic Coast, the walk is two miles long so four miles there and back. You'll need to have a head for heights in parts though but it is definitely worth it as it is stunning.
You will however need to be reasonably fit as the path can be tricky in places and there are several inclines.
There is however an option at the half way mark to turn back by walking along the cliff top. The return walk is much easier than the coast path as it is all along fields. It is still a lovely walk.
If you decide to continue and make a day of it , you will reach Beer in about a mile. There are a number of cafes located on the beach in the summer and also a number of good pubs close by to the beach where you can get a well deserved cup of tea or bite to eat.
Then it's back to Branscombe!
